Simple Instruction for sliding knots

step-by-step instructions

A slip knot is the perfect solution to make your jewelry adjustable - without a clasp! Whether you want to tie a bracelet or a necklace, this simple knot is easy to tighten and loosen. ✨

Today I'll show you how to make a sliding knot yourself so you can customize your crystal bracelets or pendants.

What you need

Cord – e.g. waxed cotton, leather or nylon
Scissors
Optional: A drilled stone or pearl for that extra touch of magic 💎

step-by-step instructions

1️⃣ Cut the cord

  • Cut about 50 cm (20 inches) of cord - for chains about 80-100 cm (40 inches)
  • If you are using a crystal bead or drilled gemstone , thread it now.

2️⃣ Make the first knot

  • Place one end of the string over the other to form a loop .
  • Wrap the end around the string 3-4 times .
  • Pull the end through the loop and gently tighten the knot.

💡 Tip: The knot should not be too tight – it must still be able to slide!

3️⃣ Make a second knot

  • Turn the bracelet or necklace over and repeat the same steps on the other end .

Now you have two sliding knots with which you can adjust your jewelry perfectly!

4️⃣ Fine-tuning

✔ Pull on both knots to test if they slide well.
✔ Cut off any excess tape and seal the ends (for nylon, melt slightly with a lighter).
✔ Done – your handmade, adjustable jewelry is ready to wear!
